It is very very very very coooold. Wish I had slippers.

I'm reading "Ozma of Oz" and I... I'm kind of at a loss. I don't like the book. The only good thing about it is that it's an easy read/it's short. All the characters are insane. I get that people lump "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Wizard of Oz" together for specific reasons like the fact that all the characters inside are insane so I was aware of this fact before... but still.

Also: all I see when I read this book is a) crazy people and b) sexism.

I get that it was a different time and a different section of the country (I think, anyway) than where I've spent most of my life, but that just explains what's going on in the book. It doesn't mean that I have to forgive it. The girls in the story are little glass dolls who aren't expected to do anything. The "farm sense" or whatever that Dorothy keeps trying to sell is also rather grating.

I'm a little confused on which message is trying to be sent with the Army of Oz. It could be anti-establishment or anti-bureacracy or anti-government or anti-military or anti-rotten politicians or well... any number of other things. Or all of them. Since I'm relatively certain that the military is structured in the general fashion it is supposed to be structured in due to numbers... I don't know. I am quite certain that there is redundancy, wasted money, corruption, and stupidity and so on in the military, as there is everywhere in the government. And life, in general.

I really wish you could snap your fingers and learn something. I do my piano warm-up, and then I start practicing my piece and instantly stop. My problem is obviously lack of focus, determination, and laziness... And it's a personal thing. And I need to deal with it. Just like I need to finish my essay and get off of here and stop watching Charmed.

Last episode of season 2. After that's done with and I'm on to season 3... I'll go practice the piece some more and then go to dinner.
